Sea cadet unit for Helston?
Helston could see the formation of its own sea cadet unit.
Gary Truscott, district officer for Cornwall Sea Cadets, has written to the town council seeking members' support for the formation of a unit in the town.
The idea received unanimous approval from the town's councillors at their last meeting.
Mayor Niall Devenish said: "In my own, personal opinion to have a sea cadet unit in Helston, so close to Culdrose, would be most desirable."
Councillor Sue Swift agreed that members should do everything they could to support the scheme.
"It is wonderful to see it in other places and it's another thing the youth of the town can do. I propose we support it wholeheartedly," she added.
Do you think Helston should have its own sea cadet unit? Have your say below.

What a great idea for Helston. Falmouth & Penryn has such a unit and it has gone from strength to strength and recently gained 'Best Unit in Cornwall' awards like this are awarded after a lot of hard work and dedication by both cadets and volunteer staff. Good Luck.
