Unbeaten Mullion stay top
Mullion's lead at the top of division three is still intact as their home game against Barripper on Saturday was the only game in the division that was played.
Though the game was abandoned at tea-time Mullion took eight points as opposed to the six obtained by the other teams in the division that had cancellations.
With the heavy rain showers escaping the south of the county the game was able to get underway on time at Garro Lane. Mullion soon made early inroads into the visitors' batting line up. Tom Retallack struck twice and with Dan Gillman and Kevin Bosustow also amongst the wickets Barripper were in some trouble at 63-4 despite Mark Trestrail's 23.
Then Dale Paul joined Simon Trestrail in a partnership to transform the innings. The pair put on 177 for the fifth wicket in an unbroken stand. Hard hitting Paul thumped 107 not out, the majority coming in boundaries, while Trestrail made an unbeaten 59 at the other end. The innings came to a premature end however when rain prevented the last over from being sent down with tea being taken early.
Conditions worsened with no further play possible leaving Mullion's unbeaten record intact. Retallack took two for 25 from six overs, Bosustow one for 32 and Gillman one for 54. Mullion have a tough weekend ahead. They are 13 points ahead of joint second placed St Just seconds and Crofty/Holman but they have to travel to both venues over the weekend. Cape Cornwall Road on Saturday and Blaythorne on Monday.

In division four the match between St Day (6 points) Helston (six) was cancelled as well as Helston (six points) Botallack (six) in division seven.
It was a similar story for Porthleven with both games cancelled due to the weather. The first XI were due to visit St Clare to play struggling Penzance seconds. The first XI have a Bank Holiday weekend at home with visits from Crofty/Holman on Saturday and Barripper on Monday. The seconds are on the road with trips to St Gluvias seconds and St Newlyn East.
Despite downpours only a few miles away Wendron were able to complete their home game with Leedstown at Underlane. They went down to a nine wicket defeat however and remain at the foot of the Division Two table without a win in their first four games, the unavailability of some players not helping the cause.
Only Dominic Marsden with 39 made much impression with the bat as the home team were dismissed for 81 on a damp pitch. Andrew Gouldthorpe, Nick Verran and James Franklin all took three wickets. Leedstown were steered to victory with an unbeaten fifty from Simon Hosking with Paul Glanville contributing 26. Wendron's forthcoming weekend fixtures feature trips to Perranporth and Beacon.

In division six Wendron seconds conceded their game to Camborne thirds. They will be looking for better fortunes at the weekend with home games against St Just fourths and Crofty/Holman seconds.
